On Monday 20 April MVCA was honored to welcome Jean-Luc Allavena, former Chief of staff of H.S.H Prince Albert II, now partner with the renowned private equity firm Apollo Management.

Apollo's investing platform consists of equity funds (public and private), credit funds (senior, mezzanine and distressed) and recently expanded into commodities and real estate.

It has a unique approach for control and non-control investments in debt and equity of distressed and highly leveraged companies. The most notable are Harrah's Entertainment, Norwegian Cruise Line, Reagoly (Coldwell Banker and Century 21 Real Estate), Hexion, Noranda Aluminium, Unity Media.

Jean-Luc Allavena was happy to share with MVCA members his views on the economic crisis that is hitting the world today and how Apollo Management is facing this crisis and exploiting investment opportunities out of it.
