Prof. Muhammad YUNUS
On November 28, MVCA had the honor to welcome Nobel Peace prize Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus.
Mr. Yunus, Founder of Grameen Bank, who took the time to meet the members, spoke about his vision to eradicate poverty by empowering the poor to help themselves. The track record of Grameen Bank shows that people are capable to develop themselves if they are offered the chance and treated as an equal and trusted party.
Yunus, a highly inspiring man who gave an equally inspiring speech, talked to MVCA members about his vision to launch a social business investment fund in Monaco. His ideas were very well received by the members who expressed their enthusiasm to contribute to the realization of that vision which ties in to Monaco's and MVCA's drive to mobilize resources for a professional and sustainable approach to socially relevant causes. |

MVCA ran a Co-investment session on 29 April at the Hotel Hermitage.
Four companies were given the opportunity to present their investment project: Emerging Beach Front Land Investment Fund from Hong Kong, SereniTeam (platform for athletics) from Paris, Anteryon (leader in optical interface technology) from The Netherlands, and Manufacture de Porcelaine (luxury porcelaine brand) from Monaco.
Next MVCA Co-investment opportunities event is scheduled on 29 May.

MVCA was having a lunch/conference on Clean Tech Private Equity on 2 April in the Monte-Carlo Bay hotel. The speakers, Mr. Frank de Wit and Mr. Stefan van den Doelder, were from Robeco Alternative Investments-Private Equity (NL).
Clean Tech is emerging as the next big growth and investment opportunity. An increasing number of companies, governments and investors are recognizing the potential of clean technologies to contribute to sustainable development and to create the next wave of innovation.
